Aug. 1-4

Santa Clara County Fair

  • The 75th annual Santa Clara County Fair celebrates the diversity of Santa Clara County with a mural painted by more than 20 county residents that will be unveiled at the opening of the fair. There will also be firework shows every night, a ‘History of the Fair exhibition and a new livestock tent exhibit area. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for children younger than 12 and seniors older than 65. In celebration of the 75th anniversary, tickets will be .75 cents from 1 to 5 opening day. They are available at www.thefair.org.

 

Aug. 3

Elks Car Show

  • The Gilroy Elks Car Show takes place at the lodge, 2765 Hecker Pass Highway. There is a 75-car limit and a free T-shirt to the first 50 entries. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. There is a $5 fee for visitor parking. Awards for Best of Show and People’s Choice. Details: (408) 842-9397.
