Growing Tomatoes Successfully

  • Increase your success in growing tomatoes at this class from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave. New varieties along with different “types of tomatoes” will be discussed. Growing in containers will also be covered. You will learn how correct planting methods, pest control and irrigation can produce healthy and productive plants. Presented by UCCE Master Gardener Joan Cloutier.

Bach to Blues Coming

  • Bach to Blues is a fundraising concert that showcases regional talent, and features Gavilan College faculty and students and takes place at 7 p.m., at the Gavilan College Theater, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd. This year’s guest performers are the Kaye Bohler Band. They will join Maria Amirkhanian, Dahveed Behroozi, Albert Marques, Sam Sotelo, the Gavilan College Ensemble, the winner of the Marian Filice Youth Piano Competition and other special guests on stage. Tickets are available at the Gavilan College Bookstore, Porcella’s Music, BookSmart in Morgan Hill and the Gavilan College sites in Morgan Hill & Hollister. ‘Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story’ Film Screening

  • This documentary, which will be shown at 6 p.m., at the Gilroy Library, 350 W. Sixth St., presents the life of Austrian actress Hedy Lamarr, one of Hollywood’s top leading ladies in the 1940s. She was also a talented inventor who created a radio system that is now considered the basis of Bluetooth technology.

Let The Dice Roll

  • Join the fun at the P.E.O. Annual Bunco Night from 6 to 9 p.m. at Old City Hall, 7400 Monterey Road. There will be hearty appetizers, dessert, refreshments and a no host bar. Faffle and unique silent auction items will feature a Gourmet Italian Dinner Party for eight. P.E.O.
