Craig Gartman

During my tenure on Gilroy’s city council, I pushed to build the Sunrise Fire Station, three new neighborhood parks (Carriage Hills, Sunrise and Los Arroyos) and drove for the renewal of downtown’s Monterey Street. I supported the two major shopping centers in town to be created. Because of my persistence, we have made great headway in the repairing of our city sidewalks.

I believe there are many more daunting tasks which lay before this council.

We need to move forward with plans for our fourth fire station, repair First Street as well as other well worn streets in town, put together a more aggressive sidewalk repair plan, demand that neighborhood parks are built on time and before the homeowners move in, stay aggressive with improving our downtown, and keep our city in sound financial condition to prevent any reduction in city services to the residents.

We need to be creative managing water and power suppliers and find ways to optimize our relationships with Caltrans and the Valley Transportation Authority.

As your councilman, I will keep pushing to ensure public safety is a number No. 1 priority. I ask for your support and your vote. Thank you!
