Reid Lerner

My name is Reid Lerner and as the owner of an architecture, engineering and planning business in Gilroy for more than 15 years, I have gained a good understanding and appreciation of our city. My firm has completed more than 100 projects in Gilroy, and we have received numerous professional and civic awards. As past president of the Gilroy Downtown Business Association, I am committed to making our downtown thrive.

I am passionate and serious about the arts and education in Gilroy. As a founding director of the Gilroy Arts Alliance, I organized and curated the first art shows at the Gilroy Center for the Arts. I also teach art and design classes for children and adults at the community center. Educating our community is vital for our future success.
While working full time in the college library, I earned my architectural degree at the University of California, Berkeley.

Volunteering with many of our local nonprofit and neighborhood groups including Gilroy Demonstration Garden, St. Joseph’s Family Center, Gavilan College internship program, Gilroy Garlic Festival and Gilroy Compassion Center has given me many opportunities to support the community.

With a history of civic involvement and the ability to make a positive difference, I am ready to step up in leadership for our city of Gilroy.
