Low Cost to No Cost College Degree?

You read that right. A low-cost to no-cost college degree is available thanks to a program being sponsored by the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce called “Gilroy Working Scholars.” The Chamber is partnering with Study.com, to bring this opportunity to our community. Gilroy Working Scholars is available to anyone who lives or works in Gilroy.

Study.com was founded in 2002 with the goal of making education more flexible, affordable and engaging. Courses are broken down into bite-sized video lessons so that information is easier to digest.

The 90-plus college courses can be completed on any mobile device or computer while dedicated success coaches provide support and help students stay on track. Courses are typically completed in one to two months. The modular format allows students to focus on the information they need to learn and breeze through what they already know. The self-paced courses also allow students to study on their own schedules. Instead of paying per course, students get unlimited access to Study.com and can take as many courses as they like for a flat fee.

The Gilroy Chamber of Commerce and Study.com have worked out an agreement to provide 25 individuals who work or live in Gilroy with one annual license each to access the Study.com platform for the first year. A student could complete up to 24 courses in that year.
