As an elected Morgan Hill Unified School Board Trustee, I have tremendous insight into the operations of our Santa Clara County school districts. My family has two generations of children in public schools. I bring important experience with a Masters in Governance from CSBA, as well as a Project Cornerstone classroom reading mentor. Bold leadership is desperately needed to address student safety on our campuses. “Gino Borgioli is a champion for our kids and their safety,” says Gilroy Mayor Roland Velasco.
Parents tell me their kids are not being challenged, while other kids continue to fall further behind. We must tackle the student achievement gaps ignored by the politicians, especially with the socio-economic disadvantaged. Parents deserve better!
During my first four years as a trustee on the MHUSD board, I worked closely with the students, parents and teachers in the classrooms. I delivered on my promises to bring 21st century learning tools into the classroom and engage our students. All grades 2 through 12 now have Chromebooks in their hands today! I promised to use Measure G bond money effectively to enhance and upgrade all of our schools. Today, every school has a T1 backbone, Wifi, laptops for all teachers and smart boards to teach our kids.
“Trustee Gino Borgioli keeps a balanced budget. He’s a vigilant watchdog with taxpayer money,” said Dave Clink, Morgan Hill city treasurer. Demanding transparency at the county will ensure fiscal responsibility so every precious tax dollar is wisely spent for our kids.
When I voted to stop school buildings from being built on toxic soil, I asked tough questions and made hard decisions. Listening to the community of parents, I will use all of my life experiences to refocus the Santa Clara County Board of Education on what is truly important — our children, teaching, learning and student achievement.
With more than 30 years of high-tech experience complemented with 10 years of financial industry experience, I will bring practical real-world experience to the county board of education.
When comparing candidates, it’s critical to choose a candidate with positive accomplishments and the ability to compromise, not divide the school board.
My motto four years ago and today is “kids first and keep politics out of the school board.” I ask for your vote. www.VoteGino2018.com or call (408) 981-2977.
