When I was elected in 2018, I promised to work hard for the people of Gilroy. Honestly speaking, I have done just that. This is one of the reasons why voters should re-elect me for city council. I promised I would “give citizens their voices back.” Anyone who contacted me got their question answered and their concern dealt with.

One of the main reasons I would like to be re-elected is to finish what I have been working on. I fought hard to secure funding for the Glen Loma Fire Station. However, when the pandemic reduced the city’s income, this money needed to be reallocated to pay for essential city services. If re-elected, I am committed to making the Glen Loma Fire Station my highest priority in order to lower emergency response times for the health and safety of our citizens.

I want to keep fighting for the revitalization of downtown Gilroy because the downtown is the cornerstone of our economic development program for the entire city. If we can attract an array of diverse businesses, it will lure both citizens and tourists making Gilroy a very unique place to visit. The downtown is the “heart of Gilroy.”  When our heart is healthy, the entire city thrives.

I support the Economic Development Coalition’s efforts to make Gilroy a recreation tourist destination.  With our beautiful vineyards, wineries, city parks, agricultural fields, and Gilroy Gardens, our city has a lot to offer people who live here or come to visit. We need to expand these assets and create others to attract visitors.

I will always be fiscally responsible with taxpayer money. When the economy turns around, I want to be instrumental in fighting for the return of jobs and programs that we lost in 2020.

All in all, I would be truly honored to serve as a council member for four more years because with all of us working together, we can make Gilroy a livable, workable and lovable place to call home.
