Due to COVID-19 restrictions, graduating students will go through the 101st Gavilan College Commencement ceremony virtually starting 3 p.m. Friday, May 28.

Many of the graduates have submitted pictures, videos, and comments for their commencement slides. If they were unable to, there will be a slide with their name announced, graduation date, and major.

The URL to the virtual program will be posted to the Gavilan website by Tuesday, May 25. All invited graduates will receive an email from Stage Clip Events with the URL.

Dr. Kathleen Rose, Gavilan’s superintendent/president extends her congratulations to the class of 2021 in her comments in the May newsletter sent by the college.

“We are proud of you and wish you well in the next chapter of your educational journey,” she said. “Please be sure to participate in our virtual graduation ceremony and enjoy the pictures and stories of our graduates. At the end of the ceremony, I will virtually ask you to move your tassel from the right to the left, to signify the conferral of your degree or certificate. I hope you are able to celebrate safely with your family and friends, and that your memories of Gavilan College remain strong for many years to come.”
