Mondays

Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

  • The Visiting Nurses Association Hospice support group helps people deal with the emotions that come from losing a loved one. Meets 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the San Martin Presbyterian Church, 13200 Lincoln Ave., San Martin. Details: Mick Erickson, the hospice chaplain, at (831) 236-1015.

Second Mondays

Parkinson’s Support Group

  • This monthly meeting supports persons and caregivers affected by Parkinson’s disease. The group meets on the second Monday of each month from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at Merrill Gardens in Gilroy. Details: please call (408) 691-5982.

First, third Mondays

Lions Club Meets

  • Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. virtually and occasionally at 12415 Murphy Ave., San Martin. They support local and global activities. Details: [email protected].

               Second, fourth Mondays

Lions Club Morgan Hill

  • The Lions Club meets at Mama Mia’s, 275 E. Dunne Ave., at 7 p.m. They focus on programs and services for the blind and visually impaired, and many other local programs. Details: (408) 723-1018.

Tuesday and Thursday

Historical Museum Open

  • The Gilroy Historical Museum, 195 Fifth St., is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the first Saturday.

Wednesdays

Wind Symphony Meets

  • The Morgan Hill Wind Symphony meets from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Grace Hill Church, 16970 DeWitt Ave., Morgan Hill. Bring your instrument and join the group. Details: www.mhws.org.

 

First Wednesday

Flower Lovers Meet

  • The Morgan Hill Flower Lovers is having an open invitation for potential members interested in perfecting their knowledge of gardening. They meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Community & Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

Second Wednesday

South Valley Wood Workers

  • Meet at 7 p.m. at 9598 Ruth Lane, Morgan Hill. Details: (408) 463-9030.

Fourth Wednesday

Embroiderers Guild of America

  • The Gavilan Hills Chapter seeks new members. Meet at 10 a.m. through October, at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road. Proof of vaccination required. Masks worn indoors. The mission of the EGA is to inspire passion for the needle arts through education and the celebration of its heritage.

Thursdays

Duplicate Bridge

Pacheco Pass 4-H Club

Third Thursday

Women in Touch II

  • The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill house are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents providing tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, where visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Horsemen Meet

  • The San Martin Horsemen’s Association meets at 7 p.m. at the San Martin Lion’s Club, 12415 Murphy Ave. Details: www.smhorse.org.

Running Group, Club Run

  • The South Valley Running Club is hosting a group run at 8 a.m. Various distances. All levels are welcome. Membership is not required. Details: www.svrchome.org.

Morning Bike Ride

  • Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market

  • The Morgan Hill Certified Farmers’ Market brings together farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. Now year-round, a family-friendly Kid’s Craft event was added with fun educational projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the CalTrain Depot, accessed via Butterfield Boulevard.

Book Sale

  • The Friends of Gilroy Library will hold its monthly book sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gilroy Library, 350 W. Sixth St.

April 2

Ryan Scripps on Stage

  • Enjoy a live acoustic performance by Ryan Scripps from 1 to 3 p.m., at Cottage Creek Vineyards, 12537 Watsonville Road.

April 16 & 23

Plant Sale The South Valley Fleurs Garden

  • The club will host its annual sale from 9 to 2 p.m. April 16 at Grace Hill Church 16970 DeWitt Ave., Morgan Hill and April 23 at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall, 649 San Benito St., Hollister. The funds raised by the nonprofit helps provide grants in schools for gardens. The club maintains the downtown planters and the Butterfly Garden in Morgan Hill. In Gilroy, they planted and maintain gardens at the Senior Center and VFW Hall. And in Hollister they planted and maintain a Fire-Safe Garden.

April 23

Plant Sale

  • The Gilroy Gardening Group, a group of local garden enthusiasts on Nextdoor, is holding a Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Miller Red Barn at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy. There will be affordable vegetables, flowers, succulents and Californian native plants, especially important during this time of drought. UC Master Gardeners Program members will be there to answer questions, advise on drought hardy plants and give additional tips to the community. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Red Barn Association and San Martin Gwinn School gardening program for kids.

May 6 & 7

Home and Garden Tour

  • The Gilroy Assistance League’s Annual Impressions Home + Garden Tour & Boutique is back for 2022. This event is the perfect outing for Mother’s Day weekend and is also the major fundraiser for Gilroy Assistance League’s grant program that benefits dozens of South County youth programs each year. On both Friday and Saturday, check-in at the first house (located at 849 Second St.) begins as early as 10 a.m. and as late as 2 p.m. Upon check-in, ticketholders (two words) will receive a program with descriptions of the homes and a map with the locations of all tour homes. At the conclusion of the walking tour, ticket holders are invited to mingle and shop at an extensive outdoor boutique featuring numerous talented local artisans, delicious refreshments, and a no-host wine bar. The boutique will be open both days until 5 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. For more information or to buy tickets, www.gilroyassistanceleague.org.
