Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

Parkinson’s Support Group

SM Lions Club Meets

Lions Club Morgan Hill
• The Lions Club meets at Mama Mia’s, 275 E. Dunne Ave., at 7 p.m. They focus on programs and services for the blind and visually impaired, and many other local programs. Details: (408) 723-1018.

Wind Symphony Meets

Embroiderers Guild of America

The mission of the EGA is to inspire passion for the needle arts through education and the celebration of its heritage.

Running Group, Club Run
• The South Valley Running Club is hosting a group run at 8 a.m. Various distances. All levels are welcome. Membership is not required. Details: www.svrchome.org.
Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, where visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.
Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.
Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Certified Farmers’ Market brings together farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets in downtown. Now year-round, a family-friendly Kids Craft event was added with fun educational projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the CalTrain depot, accessed via Butterfield Boulevard.

Mental Health Awareness
• A community mental health and suicide prevention awareness presentation takes place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill City Council Chamber, 17555 Peak Ave. Understand the issues around mental health and learn valuable coping skills for managing stress, anxiety, and suicide prevention. Meet the Author
• Meet Chrissy Hunger, author of “War of Seasons,” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at BookSmart, 421 Vineyard Town Center.
Wine Stroll
• Get your tickets now for the MHDA Wine Stroll from 1 to 5 p.m. in downtown. Enjoy wines from more than 20 local wineries while experiencing downtown shops and restaurants. Take in live music and don’t miss the festivities for Air for Paws. They will have a pet parade and information about this fantastic local charity.
Teen Poetry Contest
• The Santa Clara County Library District is hosting a teen poetry contest. One winner will be selected from each library in two categories – Grades 5-8 and 9-12. Winners will receive a $50 gift card. Participants must submit neatly printed or typed up to three original poems no longer than 30 lines each. They will be judged by grade level, original content, style, vocabulary and creative expression. Submit online at sccld.org/teen-poetry-contest or in person with an entry form at the library. The last day to submit is April 30.

• Pre-Mother’s Day Extravaganza

South Valley Symphony Concert
• The annual Mother’s Day concert has a “Fiesta Latina” theme under the baton of maestro Anthony Quartuccio. Classical music includes Bizet’s orchestra selection from the opera “Carmen,” Ruperto Chapi’s “El Tambor de Granadero, and Marquez’s Danzon No. 2. Give Where You Live
• Gilroy Foundation will host a “Give Where You Live” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lodge on the Hill. This educational and informative mixer focuses on the challenges and overwhelming accomplishments of the past three years since the first event was held in 2019. A panel of community members speaking on how they have positively interacted with the foundation during this time and information tables staffed by Gilroy Foundation directors will be a highlight of the evening. Mariachi Competition, Picnic
• Morgan Hill Historical is hosting the third Youth Mariachi Competition & Family Picnic from 1 to 5 p.m. at 17860 Monterey Road. No fee, fun children’s activities, bring a lunch or purchase from a food truck on site.

Live Oak’s Class Reunion
• Live Oak High School’s classes from the ‘60s and ‘70s are welcome to this class reunion that takes place from 4 to 9 p.m. at Guglielmo Winery, 1480 E. Main St. The cost is $65 per person. Mushroom Mardi Gras
• Canceled the past two years, the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras is back. The two-day explosion of fungal culture is held at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road, and along Depot St.
June 3
Charity Golf Tournament
• Operation Freedom Paws annual Charity Golf Tournament and Awards Luncheon takes place beginning at 7 a.m. at Coyote Creek Golf Club. Start the day on the greens with a light breakfast on the go. There will be drink stations with complimentary water, soda and beer along the course. After the tournament is over, enjoy a buffet lunch on the Garden Terrace overlooking the 18th hole, where they will announce and award the overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams and contest winners with some great prizes.
