Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

  • The Visiting Nurses Association Hospice support group helps people deal with emotions that come from losing a loved one. Meets 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the San Martin Presbyterian Church, 13200 Lincoln Ave. Details: (831) 236-1015.

Lions Club Morgan Hill

  • The Lions Club meets at Mama Mia’s, 275 E. Dunne Ave., at 7 p.m. They focus on programs and services for the blind and visually impaired, and many other local programs. Details: (408) 723-1018.

Bingo

  • Play Bingo at the Community Center, 17000 Monterey Road. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Games start at 6:30 p.m.

Historical Museum Open

  • The Gilroy Historical Museum, 195 Fifth St., is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesdays

Wind Symphony Meets

  • The Morgan Hill Wind Symphony meets from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Grace Hill Church, 16970 DeWitt Ave., Morgan Hill. Bring your instrument and join the group. Details: www.mhws.org.

Fourth Wednesday

Embroiderers Guild of America

  • The Gavilan Hills Chapter seeks new members. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road. Proof of vaccination required. Masks worn indoors. The mission of the EGA is to inspire passion for the needle arts through education and the celebration of its heritage.

Thursdays

Duplicate Bridge

Grief Support Group

  • This monthly Bible-based meeting supports parents who have lost a child of any age. This group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Email [email protected] for location and more information.

Horsemen Meet

  • The San Martin Horsemen’s Association meets at 7 p.m. at the San Martin Lions Club, 12415 Murphy Ave. Details: www.smhorse.org.

Saturdays

Running Group, Club Run

  • The South Valley Running Club is hosting a group run at 8 a.m. Various distances. All levels are welcome. Membership is not required. Details: www.svrchome.org.

Morning Bike Ride

  • Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market

  • The Morgan Hill Certified Farmers’ Market brings together farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets in downtown. Now year-round, a family-friendly Kids Craft event was added with fun educational projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, accessed via Butterfield Boulevard.

Gilroy Museum

  • The Gilroy Museum has added hours and is now open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

May 14

Woodland Estates Parking Lot Sale

  • Visit Woodland Estates from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a community-wide estate sale at 850 W. Middle Ave., Morgan Hill.

Book Sale

  • The Friends of Gilroy Library book sales takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library, 350 W. Sixth St. The Isabel Jewell Bookstore is open Monday through Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. They have many boxes of children’s fiction for teachers. Also lots of books in Spanish and they need teen fiction.

May 19

Give Where You Live

  • Gilroy Foundation will host a “Give Where You Live” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lodge on the Hill. This educational and informative mixer focuses on the challenges and accomplishments of the past three years. Details and to attend, contact [email protected].

Mariachi Competition, Picnic

  • Morgan Hill Historical is hosting the third Youth Mariachi Competition & Family Picnic from 1 to 5 p.m. at 17860 Monterey Road. No fee, fun children’s activities, bring a lunch or purchase from a food truck on site.

Food Truck Fly-In

  • South County Airport Pilot’s association along with the Santa Clara County Airports invite the public to The Food Truck Fly-In from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the San Martin Airport, 13030 Murphy Ave. The event features food, airplanes, live music and family fun.

Gilroy Rotary Wine Garden

  • The Gilroy Rotary Wine Garden featuring local wineries Fortino, Solis and Guglielmo, takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wings of History Museum, 12777 Murphy Ave. Enjoy wine tasting and frozen fruit mimosas. The event supports charitable giving and scholarships. Details: (408) 391-4409.

May 28 & 29

Mushroom Mardi Gras

  • Canceled the past two years, the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras is back. The two-day explosion of fungal culture is held at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

June 3

Charity Golf Tournament

  • Operation Freedom Paws annual Charity Golf Tournament and Awards Luncheon takes place beginning at 7 a.m. at Coyote Creek Golf Club. Start the day on the greens with a light breakfast on the go. There will be drink stations with complimentary water, soda and beer along the course. After the tournament is over, enjoy a buffet lunch on the Garden Terrace overlooking the 18th hole, where they will announce and award the overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams and contest winners with some wonderful prizes.
