Santa Clara County Sheriff Candidate Kevin Jensen

Kevin Jensen

This County gave a young husband and father a chance to serve. I’ll forever repay the blessing. From son of a prison inmate, childhood poverty and dysfunction to Top Sheriff Recruit, to Assistant Chief (Santa Clara Department of Correction) – my unique breadth of experience from numerous life challenges and Sheriff’s Management positions is considered unmatched: Patrol, Investigations, Internal Affairs – Commander: Court Security, Community Services, Coroner, Terrorism Prevention, Mayor’s Gang Task Force, Ethics Instructor, President: Local, State and National Non-profits.

I’ve fought publicly for positive change at our Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office for

12 years. My Masters Degree in Leadership/BA in Management and long-term bipartisan relationships with Police Chiefs, non-profits, and community leaders enable effective crime reduction, community outreach, youth programs, solutions for our homeless & mentally ill, removing encampments which create health risks for those in and around them. I will restore ethics, implement best practices of California/National partners, and stop the crime trend – balancing rehabilitation/treatment with accountability/consequences.

Thank you South County for the vast majority of votes you gave me in 2014 and in this year’s primary due to my decades-long relationships with the South County Communities (Agriculture, Cattle families, Faith based and Charitable organizations, and so many others) I’m honored that the Deputies and Officers who respond when you call 911 have endorsed me. Living my values of integrity, fairness, respect for all, earned me the overwhelming trust and endorsements of 97% of the Santa Clara County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, South Bay AFL-CIO Labor Council, Santa Clara County Correctional Peace Officers Association, County-wide Police Associations (including Gilroy/Morgan Hill), Community Leaders: business, education, civil rights, Don Gage, Blanca Alvarado, Senator Cortese, Supervisor Wasserman, Chief Scot Smithee, and so many others.

I am grateful for your continued support to restore public safety, trust, and public service.
