Sylvia Arenas

South County families need a passionate advocate on the Board of Supervisors, an experienced problem solver who’s ready to deliver results for our communities on Day 1.

As a School Boardmember and City Councilmember, I’ve fought for families, Veterans, seniors, small businessowners and workers to make sure everyone has access to good schools, safe neighborhoods, affordable housing, and good-paying jobs.

I secured nearly $20 million in federal funds for childcare and after-school programs, led efforts to expand homeless shelters and mental health services, protected 3,000 acres of open space from overdevelopment, and balanced budgets while protecting vital services like public safety, hiring 200 new police officers and cracking down on burglaries, violent crime, and those who abuse women and children.

As Supervisor, I will bring a results-driven approach to tackle the county’s tough problems like addressing housing and homelessness, while always fighting for our families. I will fight to ensure that South County families have the support they need from the County.

Here’s my four-point plan:

1)     Improve Public Safety: Crack down on burglaries, violent crime, and those who abuse women and children.

2)     Homelessness: Fix and improve homeless and mental health services so those in need can get the treatment and housing they need to get off the streets.

3)     Prioritize Families: Make sure families can afford to live in Santa Clara County, with more homeownership opportunities, affordable childcare, access to healthcare, transit, and good paying jobs.

4)     Climate Change: Protect our water and open space, expand renewable energy, and hold polluters accountable to clean up their mess.

I am proud to be endorsed by Firefighters, Nurses, Small Businessowners, Congresswoman Lofgren, Senator Cortese, Assemblymember Kalra, Morgan Hill Mayor Rich Constantine, and County Board of Education Trustee Claudia Rossi.

I would be honored to earn your vote.  Please visit www.sylviaarenas.com
