Hello, my name is Tom Cline, and I am running for Gilroy City Council. I appreciate you learning about me and my position on the pressing issues facing Gilroy and why I am respectfully asking for your vote.

Frankly, we need new leadership in City Hall. Gilroy is facing serious challenges, and you deserve a trusted leader that will take the initiative by offering solutions to problems such as rising crime and homelessness, while creating new jobs and controlling housing growth.

I am not a politician interested in winning the next election or promoting a self-serving agenda. Rather, my focus will be on developing strong policy ideas to bridge the divide within the community, engaging in economic growth activities that bring actual results to Gilroy and ensuring the safety of our families and neighborhoods. I have over 30 years of serving and leading in various community organizations, and I’m a successful business owner who has experience controlling spending while creating high-paying union jobs.

I am running for City Council to: 1– Add police and firefighters to our streets to fight crime and aid in emergencies. We can do more to keep our neighborhoods safe. 2–Treat businesses as our economic partners so that we can create new jobs and show that our city is open for business. 3–Slow housing growth and evaluate the impacts to our schools and traffic. 4–Clean up our streets and find real housing solutions for the homeless encampments that have been allowed to develop. It is high time for action on all these issues.
