Mondays

Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

  • The Visiting Nurses Association Hospice support group helps people deal with emotions that come from losing a loved one. Meets 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the San Martin Presbyterian Church, 13200 Lincoln Ave. Details: (831) 236-1015.

Lions Club Morgan Hill

  • The Lions Club meets at Mama Mia’s, 275 E. Dunne Ave., at 7 p.m. They focus on programs and services for the blind and visually impaired, and many other local programs. Details: (408) 723-1018.

Bingo

  • Play Bingo at the Community Center, 17000 Monterey Road. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Games start at 6:30 p.m.

First, Third Tuesdays

San Martin Lions Club

  • Lions Club meetings are at 7 p.m. virtually and occasionally on-site at 12415 Murphy Ave. They support local and global activities. Details: [email protected].

Historical Museum Open

  • The Gilroy Historical Museum, 195 Fifth St., is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesdays

Wind Symphony Meets

  • The Morgan Hill Wind Symphony meets from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Grace Hill Church, 16970 DeWitt Ave. Bring your instrument. Details: www.mhws.org.

Armchair Theologians

  • Armchair Theologians (Church Book Club) of Gilroy United Methodist Church is reading the book “Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood” by Trevor Noah. Embroiderers Guild of America

  • The Gavilan Hills Chapter seeks new members. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road. Proof of vaccination required. Masks indoors. The mission of the EGA is to inspire passion for the needle arts through education and the celebration of its heritage.

Duplicate Bridge

Grief Support Group

  • This monthly Bible-based meeting supports parents who have lost a child of any age. This group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Email [email protected] for location and more information.

Saturdays

Running Group, Club Run

  • The South Valley Running Club hosts a group run at 8 a.m. Various distances. All levels welcome. Membership is not required. Details: www.svrchome.org.

Morning Bike Ride

  • Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market

  • The Morgan Hill Certified Farmers’ Market brings together farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft event was added with fun educational projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, accessed via Butterfield Boulevard.

First, Second Saturdays

Gilroy Museum

  • The Gilroy Museum has added hours and is now open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Now through Nov. 6

Pumpkin Patch

  • Spina Farms offers a year-round farm-stand store and transforms into a pumpkin patch that is open seven days a week (weather permitting) and their hours fluctuate throughout the season. They are located at 225 Laguna Ave., Morgan Hill. Admission free, and attraction tickets can be purchased on-site. Activities are about $5 – $10 each. Parking is free weekdays and $10 cash Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

 

Oct. 30

Oktoberfest at Guglielmo

  • Featuring the finest in beer and food, an Oktoberfest Festival is being held at Guglielmo Winery from 5 to 9 p.m. Sponsored by the Morgan Hill council of the Knights of Columbus, it features the band the “Internationals.” A meal of bratwurst, German potato salad and red cabbage is followed by apple strudel dessert. The festival’s primary focus is to raise funds for educational scholarships for students in Morgan Hill and Gilroy schools. Oct. 31

Safe Trick or Treat

  • The Morgan Hill Downtown Association’s annual Safe Trick or Treat takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. in downtown. For ages 12 and younger.

Church Trunk or Treat!

  • Gilroy United Methodist Church will have Trunk or Treat from 5 to 7 p.m., in the church parking lot, 7600 Church St. This is a free family event. Join them for an event full of candy, goodies, and fun for the entire family. Children and families are invited to dress up in (non-scary!) costumes. Details: [email protected].

Nov. 3

Jazz @ Gavilan

  • Jazz @ Gavilan takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the college theater, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd. Admission is $20, students are free. Tickets available online at bpt.me/5591438, BookSmart in Morgan Hill, the Gavilan college bookstore and at the door.

Meet the Author

  • Meet Marlene Anne Bumgarner, the author of “Back in the Land of Silicon Valley,” at 2 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave.

Christmas Boutique

  • Find unique items at the Christmas Boutique from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the St. Mary School Gym. Free to the public. Interested in selling items? Make check payable to the Gilroy Knights of Columbus #2469 and drop off at the parish office.

Nov. 11

Veterans Day Parade

  • Community organizations, businesses, schools and clubs are encouraged to apply to participate in the Gilroy Veterans Day Parade at 1 p.m. The parade theme is “Remember Everyone Deployed and All Who Served.” The entry rules and conditions, as well as the application, are available at www.GilroyVeteransHall.org under community events/Veterans Day 2022). Library Book Sale

  • The Friends of Gilroy Library will hold their monthly book sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 350 W. Sixth St. Books are $5 per bag for members and $8 for non-members. The Isabel Jewell Bookstore hours are Mon., Tues., Fri., 1 to 3 p.m.; Wed. from 1 to 4 p.m.; Thurs. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

87th Christmas Bazaar

  • Gilroy United Women in Faith will have 87th Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Gilroy United Methodist Church, at 7600 Church St. Join them for handmade crafts, a bake sale table, homemade jams and goodies.
