Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

Second Mondays

Parkinson’s Support Group
• This meeting supports those affected by Parkinson’s disease, including family members and caretakers. The group meets from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Merrill Gardens in Gilroy. Details: please call (408) 691-5982.

Second, fourth Mondays

Lions Club Morgan Hill
• The Lions Club meets at Mama Mia’s, 275 E. Dunne Ave., at 7 p.m. They focus on programs and services for the blind and visually impaired, and many other local programs. Details: (408) 723-1018.

Tuesdays

Bingo
• Play Bingo at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., games start at 6:30 p.m.

Meditation, Yoga Sutra Study
• Join others for a time of meditation and inspiration from the Yoga Sutras, a foundational yoga and meditation text, from 1 to 2 p.m., at 8347 Church St. New and experienced students are welcome. Wind Symphony Meets

Armchair Theologians
• Armchair Theologians (Church Book Club) of Gilroy United Methodist Church is reading the book “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Running Group, Club Run
• The South Valley Running Club hosts a group run at 8 a.m. Various distances. All levels welcome. Membership is not required. Details: www.svrchome.org.

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Certified Farmers’ Market brings together farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included with fun educational projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, accessed via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions to the museum. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, where visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

First, Second Saturdays

Gilroy Museum
• The Gilroy Museum has added hours and is now open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Second Saturday

Downtown Walking Tours
• Enjoy a free historic tour of downtown hosted by the Morgan Hill Historical Society from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Morgan Hill Parking Garage (3rd Street off Monterey Road). No reservations required. Learn more: www.morganhillhistoricalsociety.org.

Daughters of the Amer. Revolution
• Members from Hollister, Gilroy, San Juan Bautista and Morgan Hill meet at 10 a.m. (through May). The DAR is a nonprofit, nonpolitical women’s volunteer service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. Storytime
• Join others for stories, songs, and more from 10:30 to 11 a.m., in the Children’s Activity Room on the ground floor of the library, 350 W. Sixth St. Social distancing health protocols will be in place thus space will be limited. Masks required for those older than 2.

Jan. 14

Book Sale
• The Friends of Gilroy Library will hold their monthly book sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library, 350 W. Sixth St. Books are $5 per bag full for members and $8 per bag for non-members. Membership is $5 per year per person and $10 per year for a family. DVD’s and CD’s are included.

Science Fair
• Fifth through eighth graders interested in participating in the local South Valley Science and Engineering Fair register your project idea (in either biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, math, or computer science) at www.southvalleyscience.org and join the second SVSEF’s Mentoring Day. Jan. 23

Artist Reception
• The January 2023 Mural called “Rising” will be on display at the Gilroy Center for the Arts. The mural is inspired by incarcerated men at Elmwood Correctional Facility and formerly incarcerated men living in South County. The theme of the men’s mural project is centered around exploring experiences with fatherhood – as a father and/or experiences with our own father. It takes place from noon to 4 p.m., at the center, 7341 Monterey Highway.
