For the past 69 years, the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce has celebrated people and businesses who go above and beyond in our community.

The Gilroy Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Spice of Life Awards Dinner is more than just a ceremony; it is a reflection of the shared values and aspirations of the entire community. The event is a celebration of innovation, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy — a night that brings together the best and brightest of Gilroy to honor their achievements and contributions.

The Chamber is proud to present the 70th Annual Spice of Life Awards Dinner Saturday, Aug. 26, honoring the following nine recipients:

Man of the Year: Mark Turner

Woman of the Year: Jane Howard

Large Business of the Year: Nissan of Gilroy

Small Business of the Year: One Life Prints

Educator of the Year: Michelle Anderson

Volunteer of the Year: Mike Brownfield

Nonprofit of the Year: Latino Family Fund

Young Professional of the Year: Mark E. Jacobsen

Student of the Year: Alexandra Beyret

Beyond honoring local businesses, the Spice of Life Awards plays a pivotal role in bringing customers, businesses, and people together. The popular event serves as a platform for networking and fostering meaningful connections.

Business owners, local dignitaries, and residents gather under one roof, forging alliances that strengthen the city’s economic fabric.

Moreover, the proceeds from the event go towards supporting the Gilroy Chamber’s initiatives, with this year’s focus being workforce development and economic development.

“As attendees raise their glasses to toast the awardees, they do more than applaud success,” said Chamber CEO Victoria Valencia. “They celebrate the spirit of community and camaraderie that makes Gilroy an extraordinary place to live and thrive.”

The Spice of Life Awards serves as a reminder that by supporting one another and embracing the diversity that defines Gilroy, the city can continue to flourish and create a future filled with promise and prosperity, she said

Organizers said they hope residents will join them as they celebrate Gilroy and the people and businesses that work to make Gilroy the best place to live, work, and play.
