Parkinson’s Support Group

Lions Club Morgan Hill

Bingo

Meditation, Yoga Sutra Study

Wind Symphony Meets

Running Group, Club Run

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included with fun projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Gilroy Ukulele Jam
• Meets at 8:30 a.m. at Cafe 152 Bread Co., 60 4th St., corner of 4th & Eigleberry streets, Gilroy. All levels of players welcome. Play and sing and have fun. Don’t be shy and don’t wait.

• The Gilroy Museum has added hours and is now open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Downtown Walking Tours
• Enjoy a free historic tour of downtown hosted by the Morgan Hill Historical Society from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Morgan Hill Parking Garage (3rd Street off Monterey Road). No reservations required. Learn more: www.morganhillhistoricalsociety.org.

Daughters of the Amer. Revolution
• Members from Hollister, Gilroy, San Juan Bautista and Morgan Hill meet at 10 a.m. (through May). Virtual Photographic Exhibition
• The Morgan Hill Photography Club presents a virtual exhibition entitled “What is It?” and consists of 28 images by 10 artists who have photographed objects that should be familiar to most viewers but may not be immediately recognizable because of the way the photographers present them. Aug. 7

Mental Health Access
• The Santa Clara County Library District is partnering with the County of Santa Clara Health System, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Santa Clara County, and Bay Area Legal Aid (BayLegal) to educate and empower local residents around mental health care through a series of events taking place at libraries. The goal is to provide crucial information about accessing mental health care services. The event at the Gilroy Library takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. at the library, 350 W. Sixth St.

Aug. 12

Book Sale
• The Friends of Gilroy Library monthly Book Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the library, 350 West Sixth St. The Isabel Jewell book store hours are Monday, Tuesday, Friday from 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the second and fourth Saturday Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Aug. 16

Opioid Overdose Prevention Workshop
• The Santa Clara County Library District and the County of Santa Clara’s Behavioral Health Services Department are joining forces to spread the word about the ongoing opioid crisis, empowering residents with information about the dangers of fentanyl and other opioids. These workshops will cover drug education, including recognizing an opioid overdose, and will provide training with the over-the-counter medication Naloxone nasal spray (commonly known as Narcan). Space is limited and registration is required. Participants who complete the training will be given a free Narcan kit, while supplies last. The Gilroy workshop takes place at 7 p.m. at the Gilroy Library.

Aug. 19

Dinner in a Cherry Orchard
• The Gilroy Garlic Festival Association will host a sumptuous dinner, “A Blossoming Affair — Dinner in the Cherry Orchard,” at 6 p.m., at a picturesque location in South Valley. Tickets are $150 and are now available at www.gilroygarlicfestivalassociation.com. Dinner will feature a hosted bar, appetizers, dinner and dessert.

Sept. 22

Uplift Concert
• Robert Butler will perform his first one man show at 7 p.m. at Gilroy’s Center for the Arts, 7341 Monterey St. It will feature covers by Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, EWF, The Temptations, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Roberta Flack, Gladys Knight, and Michael Buble. Tickets are $30 and available at Eventbrite.com. Proceeds benefit the Gilroy Compassion Center. Food and drinks will be available.

Sept. 23

‘Fire and Ice’
• The Gilroy Foundation presents Fire and Ice, a special evening gala in support of their annual fundraiser Day In The Country at 5 p.m. at Guglielmo Winery. Get ready to be captivated by an evening of artistic performances, delectable cuisine, and delightful conversations. Funds help support the foundation’s mission of empowering local initiatives, supporting education, and fostering a thriving future for our beloved community. Tickets will be available soon. Sept. 23 & 24

Quilt Show
• Despite the cancellation of the Taste of Morgan Hill during which the annual quilt show was normally held, the Piece by Piece Quilters of Morgan Hill will have a quilt show (formerly held by South Valley Quilt Association) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church at the corner of Monterey Road and Fifth St. The theme is Through the Needle’s Eye.
