Lions Club Morgan Hill

Meditation, Yoga Sutra Study

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.
Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included with fun projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, via Butterfield Boulevard.
Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.
Gilroy Ukulele Jam
• Meets at 8:30 a.m. at Cafe 152 Bread Co., 60 4th St., corner of 4th & Eigleberry streets, Gilroy. All levels of players welcome. Play and sing and have fun. Don’t be shy and don’t wait.

Downtown Walking Tours

Daughters of the Amer. Revolution
• Members from Hollister, Gilroy, San Juan Bautista and Morgan Hill meet at 10 a.m. (through May). Dinner in a Cherry Orchard
• The Gilroy Garlic Festival Association will host a sumptuous dinner, “A Blossoming Affair — Dinner in the Cherry Orchard,” at 6 p.m., at a picturesque location in South Valley. ‘Heart Health and You’
• Dr. Valerie Kwaiben, MD, a board-certified cardiologist with The Permanent Medical Group since 1991, will discuss “Heart Health and You, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center. She encourages patients to actively participate in the decision-making for their medical illness evaluation and treatment strategies, aligned with evidence-based medicine. There will be time for a Q & A.
Cops and Robbers Ball
• The Community Law Enforcement Foundation presents the annual Cops and Robbers Ball from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road. This year’s theme is Jailhouse Rock so dress the part or black tie optional. Special awards will honor retired Sgt. Troy Hoefling and board member Craig van Keulen. Mental Health Access
• The Santa Clara County Library District is holding a series of events to educate and empower South Valley residents around mental health care. The goal is to provide crucial information about accessing mental health care services. The event takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave.

Second Chance Week
• Second Chance Week focuses on putting more used items back into circulation and keeping materials out of the landfill. It starts with the Morgan Hill/South County Garage Sale, which you can sign up for now. Each day of the week will feature a different event:

Downtown Beer Crawl
• Enjoy an afternoon experiencing amazing craft beers, local merchants and live music at the 11th Annual Downtown Morgan Hill Brew Crawl from 1 to 5 p.m. Take in all the festivities across the downtown — retail and restaurant experiences and specials, live music and dancing, and a cool downtown! Uplift Concert
• Robert Butler will perform his first one man show at 7 p.m. at Gilroy’s Center for the Arts, 7341 Monterey St. It will feature covers by Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, EWF, The Temptations, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Roberta Flack, Gladys Knight, and Michael Buble. ‘Fire and Ice’
• The Gilroy Foundation presents Fire and Ice, a special evening gala in support of their annual fundraiser Day In The Country at 5 p.m. at Guglielmo Winery. Quilt Show
• Despite the cancellation of the Taste of Morgan Hill during which the annual quilt show was normally held, the Piece by Piece Quilters of Morgan Hill will have a quilt show (formerly held by South Valley Quilt Association) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church at the corner of Monterey Road and Fifth St. The theme is Through the Needle’s Eye.
