Running Group, Club Run

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included with fun projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Gilroy Ukulele Jam
• Meets at 8:30 a.m. at Cafe 152 Bread Co., 60 4th St., corner of 4th & Eigleberry streets, Gilroy. All levels of players welcome. Play and sing and have fun. Don’t be shy and don’t wait.

• The Gilroy Museum has added hours and is now open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Downtown Walking Tours
• Enjoy a free historic tour of downtown hosted by the Morgan Hill Historical Society from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Morgan Hill Parking Garage (3rd Street off Monterey Road). No reservations required. Learn more: www.morganhillhistoricalsociety.org.

Daughters of the Amer. Revolution
• Members from Hollister, Gilroy, San Juan Bautista and Morgan Hill meet at 10 a.m. (through May). Sept. 16

Planning Gardens
• Attend a “hands on” workshop on how to successfully grow a fall and winter vegetable garden and see how soil is prepared and seeds planted from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the South County Teaching and Demonstration Garden, 80 Highland Ave., San Martin. There will be demonstrations followed by planting seeds in containers to take home. Pest management and diseases will also be discussed. Presented by UCCE Master Gardener Joan Cloutier.

Downtown Beer Crawl
• Enjoy an afternoon experiencing amazing craft beers, local merchants and live music at the 11th Annual Downtown Morgan Hill Brew Crawl from 1 to 5 p.m. Take in all the festivities — retail and restaurant experiences and specials, live music and dancing. Check in is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Third Street near Monterey Road. Tickets are $65 in advance, $75 day of and includes 15-plus individual samples, restaurant and business promotions, a custom glass and map. Sept. 20

Coffee and Commerce
• The Chamber of Commerce hots it monthly networking event at 7 a.m. at Old City Hall, 7400 Monterey St. This breakfast is sponsored by the Gilroy Foundation. Bring business cards and a raffle prize.

Meditation Workshop
• “Serenity and Insight” mindfulness meditation workshop takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Morgan Hill House, Villa Mira Monte, 17860 Monterey Road. Led by James Morrison, a Buddhist monk for more than 30 years, the workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners. Teachings are offered on a donation basis. Sept. 22

Uplift Concert
• Robert Butler will perform his first one man show at 7 p.m. at Gilroy’s Center for the Arts, 7341 Monterey St. It will feature covers by Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, EWF, The Temptations, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Roberta Flack, Gladys Knight, and Michael Buble. Tickets are $30 and available at Eventbrite.com. Proceeds benefit the Gilroy Compassion Center. Food and drinks will be available.

Sept. 23

‘Fire and Ice’
• The Gilroy Foundation presents “Fire and Ice”— an evening in support of their annual fundraiser, Day In The Country at 5 p.m. at Guglielmo Winery. This event will warm your heart, ignite your spirit, and inspire you to make a difference. It includes performances, cuisine, and conversations. After-Hours Mixer
• The Chamber of Commerce’s After-Hours Mixer takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mod Movers, 8880 Forest St. Bring business cards and a raffle prize.

Recycle Drop Off
• Save the date for the Chamber of Commerce’s next Electronic Waste Recycling Drop-Off event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce (parking lot off of Eigleberry), at 7471 Monterey St. This is a free contactless drive-thru event. Batteries, lightbulbs, refrigerators, ovens/stoves, washers/dryers, large household appliances not accepted

Oct. 14

Growing Vegetables
• Learn how to grow a successful and productive vegetable garden from fall through spring from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Gilroy Library, 350 W. Sixth St. Find out how many cool season vegetables are easy to grow. Soil preparation, watering, fertilizing, disease and pest management will also be discussed.

OFP Annual Bowling Event
• Whether you like to bowl for fun or competitively, this event is right up your alley. It benefits the Operation Freedom Paws and lifesaving service dog teams. It takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Bowl. The cost is $38 for three games for both fun and tournament play.
