Monday

Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

Al-Anon Meeting

Newcomer Meeting
• For anyone who is new to Al-Anon, meet from 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. then the main meeting begins at 7 p.m., at Advent Lutheran Church, 16870 Murphy Ave., Morgan Hill. Al-Anon members are people who are worried about someone with a drinking problem. Details: www.al-anon.org

Learn About Scouts
• Scout Troops 799 and 2799 invite interested boys and girls ages 10 1/2 to 17 to join them to learn important scout skills, leadership, good citizenship, and to have some fun. Meetings are held at 7:15 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of Grace Hill Church, 16970 Dewitt Ave.

Second Monday

Parkinson’s Support Group
• Supports those affected by Parkinson’s disease, including family members and caretakers. Group meets from 1:30 to 3 p.m., at Merrill Gardens in Gilroy. Details: please call (408) 691-5982.

Dementia Support Group for Caregivers
• Group meets from 11 to 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave., and is a free, open meeting with no reservations required and for non-professional caregivers. It is a safe space to speak about the challenges faced and everything is kept confidential. Do not bring the person you are caring for to the meeting.

Tuesday

Bingo
• Have fun playing Bingo. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., games begin at 6:30 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

Meditation, Yoga Sutra Study

Veteran Benefit Days
• The Gilroy Veterans Memorial Hall, 74 W. Running Group, Club Run

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St., at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included with fun projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Gilroy Ukulele Jam
• Meets at 8:30 a.m., at Cafe 152 Bread Co., 60 4th St., corner of 4th & Eigleberry streets, Gilroy. All levels of players welcome. Play and sing and have fun. Don’t be shy and don’t wait.

Weekly Bike Ride
• Join others at 8 a.m., for a 22-mile bike ride. Meet at Off the Chain bike shop, 101 Mc Cray St., #101, Hollister. They ride out Santa Ana Road to Tres Pinos. Downtown Walking Tours
• Enjoy a free historic tour of downtown Morgan Hill hosted by ambassadors from the Morgan Hill Historical Society from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Morgan Hill Parking Garage (3rd Street off Monterey Road). No reservations required. Details: www.morganhillhistoricalsociety.org.

Daughters of the Amer. Revolution
• Members from Hollister, Gilroy, San Juan Bautista and Morgan Hill meet at 10 a.m. (through May). Virtual Photo Exhibit
• The Morgan Hill Photography Club is presenting a virtual photographic entitled “Flight” and consists of 40 images by 14 artists who interpret the theme in unique and interesting ways. ‘Rose, A Mother’s Story’
• Join Kathy Esteves-Bates for a presentation on Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy (1890-1995), mother of President John F. Kennedy, matriarch of an iconic American family. A woman of complexity, Rose Kennedy’s life is a journey of great triumph and loss, a life worth remembering. Esteves-Bates is a writer, stage/television actor, teacher and musician. The free discussion takes place from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

VFW Bingo

Jan. 20

Hike Rancho Canada del Oro
• Join Peninsula Open Space Trust for an excursion from 9:30 a.m. to noon where you’ll explore the Mayfair Ranch — Longwall Canyon trails of Rancho Cañada del Oro, 4289 Casa Loma Road, Morgan Hill. You will be guided by POST Ambassadors who will share the history of the preserve, the region, and the importance of conservation in the area. The hike is moderate to strenuous and about four miles round trip with about 700 feet of gradual elevation gain. This preserve is a hub for wildlife, such as deer, bobcats, mountain lions, and more. Dogs are not allowed on this preserve due to active cattle grazing and all minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the entirety of the hike.

Financial Management
• This workshop of accounting and tax basics for artists, creatives, and small arts organizations takes place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at 6th Street Studios & Art Center, 64 W. 6th St., Gilroy. Feb. 3

Learn to Compost
• Learn about composting at home, both backyard composting and vermicomposting (composting with worms), from 10 a.m. to noon. They’ll cover commercial composting (and why you cannot do it at home), hot and cold composting, and uses of compost. They will also briefly discuss using cover crops and show how to make a simple, inexpensive worm box for those wanting to try vermicomposting. Presented by UCCE Master Gardener Glenn Lattig.

Environmental Program
• As part of Silicon Valley Reads “A Greener Tomorrow Starts Today,” join the Gilroy branch of the American Association of University Women at 2 p.m., at the Gilroy Library 660 W. Sixth St. for “Climate Change Is Here — What Can We Do About It?” Get tips on water-saving landscaping, how to get free trees for your yard, and how you can get rebates by replacing your lawn with beautiful, drought-tolerant plants. The panelists are Karen Aitken-Bernosky, a well-known local landscape architect, Ashley Shannon, senior water conservation specialist from Valley Water, Kenneth Gabbard of the U.C. Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County, and Our City Forest. Learn how to make a difference while saving money on your water bills, to boot! Crab Feed
• Join Operation Freedom Paws for a fun-filled night of great food, live music, a silent auction, and hidden treasure drawings in the spirit of our seafaring theme from 5 to 9 p.m. at Old City Hall Restaurant. Operation Freedom Paws is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, all proceeds will help fund lifesaving service dog teams that empower veterans, first responders, children and other individuals with disabilities – at no cost to them.
