Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

Al-Anon Meeting

Newcomer Meeting
• For anyone who is new to Al-Anon, meet from 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. then the main meeting begins at 7 p.m., at Advent Lutheran Church, 16870 Murphy Ave., Morgan Hill. Al-Anon members are people who are worried about someone with a drinking problem. Details: www.al-anon.org

Learn About Scouts
• Scout Troops 799 and 2799 invite interested boys and girls ages 10 1/2 to 17 to join them to learn important scout skills, leadership, good citizenship, and to have some fun. Meetings are held at 7:15 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of Grace Hill Church, 16970 Dewitt Ave.

Second Monday

Parkinson’s Support Group
• Supports those affected by Parkinson’s disease, including family members and caretakers. Group meets from 1:30 to 3 p.m., at Merrill Gardens in Gilroy. Details: please call (408) 691-5982.

Dementia Support Group for Caregivers
• Group meets from 11 to 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave., and is free, with no reservations required and for non-professional caregivers. It is a safe space to speak about the challenges faced and everything is kept confidential. Do not bring the person you are caring for to the meeting.

Tuesday

Bingo
• Have fun playing Bingo. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., games begin at 6:30 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

Meditation, Yoga Sutra Study

Wings of History
• The San Martin Wings of History Museum is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, at 1277 Murphy Ave. There is a collection of exhibits which span the history of aviation from a replica of the Wright Flyer to a prototype Kittyhawk Heavyside H2 (experimental, unmanned aircraft). Wind Symphony Meets

Running Group, Club Run

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St., at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included with fun projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Gilroy Ukulele Jam
• Meets at 8:30 a.m., at Cafe 152 Bread Co., 60 4th St., corner of 4th & Eigleberry streets, Gilroy. All levels of players welcome. Play and sing and have fun. Don’t be shy and don’t wait.

Weekly Bike Ride
• Join others at 8 a.m., for a 22-mile bike ride. Meet at Off the Chain bike shop, 101 McCray St., #101, Hollister. They ride out Santa Ana Road to Tres Pinos. Downtown Walking Tours
• Enjoy a free historic tour of downtown Morgan Hill hosted by ambassadors from the Morgan Hill Historical Society from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Morgan Hill Parking Garage (3rd Street off Monterey Road). No reservations required. Details: www.morganhillhistoricalsociety.org.

Daughters of the Amer. Revolution
• Members from Hollister, Gilroy, San Juan Bautista and Morgan Hill meet at 10 a.m. (through May). Feb. 28

Horsemen Meet

March 2

Raincoats and Rubber Boots
• The annual event that allows children and adults to play, hike, and float a boat or rubber duck (provided) in a creek at Henry W. Coe State Park, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Go on a scavenger hunt, learn about plants, animals and rocks. Bring shorts and T-shirts (depending on the weather), lunch, snacks, drinks, towels and dry clothes for the ride home. Kids, bring your bikes and helmets (a few loaners will be available) and ride the mountain biking challenge course. The event is free, but there is a $6 parking fee. Bring exact amount. Robotics Competition
• Dubbed a varsity sport for the mind, this robotics competition combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. It kicks off at 9 a.m., at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Under strict rules, limited resources and time constraints, teams of high school students raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, build and program a robot to compete. It’s as close to “real world” engineering as a student can get. Each year this multinational competition reaches nearly 100,000 students in competitions held across the world.

Walking Tours
• Join the Gilroy Historical Society for its monthly walking tour. This month it will be a women’s history tour from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet in front of the Gilroy Museum, 195 Fifth St. Details: (408) 846-0446.

SMMA Fundraiser
• Donate unwanted clothes, books, electronics, small appliances, and exercise equipment in any condition from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sobrato High School Parking lot. No items more than 40 lbs. The tax-deductible donations benefit the Sobrato Murphy Music Association.

Planning Your Tomato Garden
• Now is the time to plan for your tomato garden. Increase your success by learning how correct planting methods, pest control, irrigation, soil management and fertilizer can produce healthy and productive plants at this UCCE Master Gardeners free class from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Gilroy Library, 350 W. Sixth St.

Book Sale
• The Friends of the Gilroy Library monthly book sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the library, 350 W. Sixth St. Books are $5 per bag for members, $8 for non-members. Membership starts at $5. The Isabel Jewell Book Store is open from 1 to 3 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Friday; from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday; and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays.

Growing Citrus Successfully
• Citrus is easy to grow and offers ornamental qualities to a landscape. Learn about varieties for our climate, planting tips, soil preparation, nutrient requirements, irrigation, pruning and managing pests at this UCCE Master Gardeners free class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave.

Gardening for Pollinators
• Pollinators and beneficials, such as birds and insects need help. One way we can help is to plant gardens of flowering plants that produce both flowers and seeds to sustain these organisms. Gardeners must also consider drought and higher temperatures in their planting plans. Native and non-native plants will be discussed and demonstrated during an outdoor workshop presented by the UCCE Master Gardeners from 10 a.m. to noon at the South County Teaching and Demonstration Garden, 80 Highland Ave. You will be able to pot and take home a perennial plant.
