Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

Al-Anon Meeting

Newcomer Meeting
• For anyone who is new to Al-Anon, meet from 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. then the main meeting begins at 7 p.m., at Advent Lutheran Church, 16870 Murphy Ave., Morgan Hill. Al-Anon members are people who are worried about someone with a drinking problem. Details: www.al-anon.org

Learn About Scouts
• Scout Troops 799 and 2799 invite interested boys and girls ages 10 1/2 to 17 to join them to learn important scout skills, leadership, good citizenship, and to have some fun. Meetings are held at 7:15 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of Grace Hill Church, 16970 Dewitt Ave.

Second Monday

Parkinson’s Support Group
• Supports those affected by Parkinson’s disease, including family members and caretakers. Group meets from 1:30 to 3 p.m., at Merrill Gardens in Gilroy. Details: Call (408) 691-5982.

Dementia Support Group for Caregivers
• Group meets from 11 to 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave., and is free, with no reservations required and for non-professional caregivers. It is a safe space to speak about the challenges faced and everything is kept confidential. Do not bring the person you are caring for to the meeting.

Tuesday

Bingo
• Have fun playing Bingo. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., games begin at 6:30 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

Meditation, Yoga Sutra Study

Veteran Benefit Days
• The Gilroy Veterans Memorial Hall, 74 W. Running Group, Club Run

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St., at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Gilroy Ukulele Jam
• Meets at 8:30 a.m., at Cafe 152 Bread Co., 60 4th St., corner of 4th & Eigleberry streets, Gilroy. All levels of players welcome. Play and sing and have fun. Don’t be shy and don’t wait.

Weekly Bike Ride
• Join others at 8 a.m., for a 22-mile bike ride. Meet at Off the Chain bike shop, 101 McCray St., #101, Hollister. They ride out Santa Ana Road to Tres Pinos. April 27

Tomato Seedling Sale
• The South Valley Fleurs Garden Club’s annual heirloom tomato seedling sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Hollister Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito St., Hollister. On sale will be tomato seedlings, perennial plants, and annuals. They will also have a variety of herbs, vegetables, flowers and garden-inspired crafts, as well as a table for kids to pot their own plants (no charge).

Luncheon, Discussion
• Hear founder and CEO of Coastal Habitat Education & Environmental Restoration Herman Garcia, at Old City Hall Restaurant, 7400 Monterey St. For more than 20 years, Garcia and volunteers have been restoring South County’s historic streams and steelhead habitat. He created a “Garbage Museum” trailer out of materials found in creeks and uses it to give school presentations. Hear his entertaining and inspiring tales. Check in and social hour at 11 a.m., lunch at noon, presentation at 1 p.m. Reservations have closed but space is available at the door for $30. State of the City
• Gilroy Mayor Marie Blankley will give her State of the City address at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) at the Gilroy City Council Chambers, 7351 Rosanna St.

Art ala Carte
• Calling all young Jedi and Padawans to join others for an out-of-this-world arts & crafts event ‘May the 4th Be With You’! Don’t miss this intergalactic arts & crafts adventure that takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the downtown amphitheater at the Morgan Hill Community & Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road. The free arts and crafts event is for children ages 2 to 10 and will include theme-related free hands-on arts and crafts projects to ensure children have a wonderful and creative time

Walking Tours
• Join the Historical Society for a walking tour of Old Gilroy (Forest and Chestnut streets) from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet in front of the Gilroy Museum, 195 5th St.

May 8

Growing in Containers
• If you’d like to grow more flowers, vegetables or herbs in your garden but have space limitations, gopher problems or other issues, try growing in containers. Discover what types of plants are perfect container candidates. Water, nutrients, soil mix, and other requirements will be discussed for successful container gardening, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave. Presented by UCCE Master Gardener Joan Cloutier.

May 10 & 11

Home + Garden Tour
• The Gilroy Assistance League invites the public to its annual Home + Garden Tour & Artisan Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Eagle Ridge. The final home on the tour offers the market featuring the work of local artists and craftspeople. Proceeds help support the grant program, as vendors donate a percentage of their sales to Gilroy Assistance League. The market also offers a no-host wine bar, complimentary lemonade, water, appetizers, and desserts made from recipes in the Gilroy Assistance League Cookbook. Park at the Gilroy Presbyterian Church, 6000 Miller Ave., and shuttle to the first home.
