Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

Al-Anon Meeting

Newcomer Meeting
• For anyone who is new to Al-Anon, meet from 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. then the main meeting begins at 7 p.m., at Advent Lutheran Church, 16870 Murphy Ave., Morgan Hill. Al-Anon members are people who are worried about someone with a drinking problem. Details: www.al-anon.org

Learn About Scouts
• Scout Troops 799 and 2799 invite interested boys and girls ages 10 1/2 to 17 to join them to learn important scout skills, leadership, good citizenship, and to have some fun. Meetings are held at 7:15 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of Grace Hill Church, 16970 Dewitt Ave.

Bingo
• Have fun playing Bingo. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., games begin at 6:30 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

Meditation, Yoga Sutra Study

Wings of History
• The Wings of History Museum is open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. View a collection of exhibits which span history. In addition, there are multiple military exhibits including original items from WW1 and WW2. The air museum is located at 1277 Murphy Ave., San Martin.

Wednesday

Wind Symphony Meets

Veteran Benefit Days
• The Gilroy Veterans Memorial Hall, 74 W. Sixth St., is hosting Veterans Benefit Days with new hours from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Veterans should bring their discharge papers (DD214), but if they don’t have them the documents can be ordered when they attend. Running Group, Club Run
• The South Valley Running Club hosts a group run at 8 a.m. Various distances. All levels welcome. Membership is not required. Details: www.svrchome.org.

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St., at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Gilroy Ukulele Jam
• Meets at 8:30 a.m., at Cafe 152 Bread Co., 60 4th St., corner of 4th & Eigleberry streets, Gilroy. All levels of players welcome. Play and sing and have fun. Don’t be shy and don’t wait.

Weekly Bike Ride
• Join others at 8 a.m., for a 22-mile bike ride. Meet at Off the Chain bike shop, 101 McCray St., #101, Hollister. They ride out Santa Ana Road to Tres Pinos. Gilroy Museum
• The Gilroy Museum has added hours and is now open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

First Sunday

Ranch Days
• Hike Nyland and Rancho Larios protected lands in San Juan Bautista from 9 a.m. to noon and help with trail maintenance. Be sure to have long-sleeves and long pants on. If you have shovels and hoes, bring them with you. Families welcome. Details: www.sanbenitolandtrust.org.

Fourth Sunday

LBD Caregivers Support Group
• Caring for a family member with Lewy body dementia? Meetings are held 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Senior Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave. This is a safe space for caregivers to share and learn, guided by a licensed nurse and experienced LBD caregiver support group facilitator. Registration required. Virtual Photographic Exhibition
• The Morgan Hill Photography Club is hosting a virtual photographic exhibition titled “My Favorites.” It consists of 38 images by 13 artists. The artists selected these photographs from among their favorites based on a variety of factors such as: uniqueness of the subject, composition, image preparation, and the fond memories that the final photograph elicits. May 26

Day on the Ridge
• Mark your calendars for a day of music, garlic-infused dishes and community spirit as Day on the Ridge rocks back for its sixth year, from 2 to 10 p.m. This year’s bands are the Kings of Chaos, You Should Be Dancing (Bee Gees Tribute), and Morgan Hill’s own Neverland. Proceeds benefit St. Joseph’s Family Center. Tickets available at dayontheridge.com.

May 27

Memorial Day Ceremony
• Honor those who gave their all at 9 a.m. at the downtown veterans memorial. The flag that will be flown is from Dude Decker. Karen Crane and children will sing patriotic songs. Honor roll will be read by Paul Nietert. Charles Bowers and Brian Cleborne will lay wreaths and Steve Johnson will close the ceremony with “Taps.” The event is organized by U.S. Army veteran and Morgan Hill resident Eddie Bowers.

Homebuyers Workshop
• Join the cities of Morgan Hill and Gilroy and the Housing Trust Homebuyer team to learn how the County of Santa Clara’s down-payment assistance program can help buy your first home. This in person event from 6 to 7 p.m. is in Spanish at the Gilroy Council Chambers, 7351 Rosanna St. It offers downpayment assistance of up to 30 percent. Pride Flag Raising Ceremony
• Celebrate South Valley’s LGBTQIA+ community for a free celebratory and educational event open to all from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Civic Center, 17575 Peak Ave.

June 1

Coyote Creek Habitat Day
• Join others for Coyote Creek Habitat Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a day of activities highlighting the wildlife and people connected with Coyote Creek while learning how to protect it in today’s changing environment. The day includes an opportunity to meet wild animals from the Wildlife Education & Rehabilitation Center, and participants can become wildlife detectives through hands-on activities like dissecting owl pellets. Additional activities include walks, a bicycle ride, and nature exploration. The event will take place at Coyote Creek Visitor Center at Anderson Lake County Park, 19245 Malaguerra Ave., Morgan Hill. Book Sale
• The Friends of the Morgan Hill Library will hold a book sale in the Program Room from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a members-only best selection early preview starting at 9 a.m., including for those who join that morning. Children’s books will be 25 cents with other books and media for all ages $1 or less. Some special sets and unique sewn handcrafts are also available. • The monthly walking tour will explore Gavilan Hills Memorial Park Cemetery from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet at the cemetery, 1000 First St.

Veterans Resource Fair
• The South Santa Clara Valley Memorial District is hosting a Veterans Resource Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gilroy Veterans Memorial Hall, 74 W. Sixth Street, in coordination with American Legion Post 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6309. The event will include medical professionals, counseling, benefits assistance, and some local businesses with services specifically for veterans.
