Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

Al-Anon Newcomer Meeting

Learn About Scouts
- Scout Troops 799 and 2799 invite boys and girls ages 10 1/2 to 17 to join them to learn important scout skills, leadership, good citizenship, and to have some fun. Meetings are held at 7:15 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of Grace Hill Church, 16970 Dewitt Ave.

Wings of History
- The Wings of History Museum is open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. View a collection of exhibits which span history. In addition, there are military exhibits including original items from WW1 and WW2. The air museum is located at 1277 Murphy Ave., San Martin.

Morning Bike Ride
- Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St., at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.
Farmers Market
- The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included.
Tour Morgan Hill Museum
- The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.
Gilroy Ukulele Jam
- Meets at 8:30 a.m., at Cafe 152 Bread Co., 60 4th St., corner of 4th & Eigleberry streets, Gilroy. All levels of players welcome. Play and sing and have fun. Don’t be shy and don’t wait.
Weekly Bike Ride
- Join others at 8 a.m., for a 22-mile bike ride. Meet at Off the Chain bike shop, 101 McCray St., #101, Hollister. They ride out Santa Ana Road to Tres Pinos. Ranch Days

Fourth Sunday
LBD Caregivers Support Group
- Caring for a family member with Lewy body dementia? Meetings are held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Senior Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave. This is a safe space for caregivers to share and learn, guided by a licensed nurse and experienced LBD caregiver support group facilitator. Registration is required. Sept. 13
Country Nights
- Capos in downtown Gilroy is hosting country night featuring the Country Cougars that will also include a DJ and line dancing lessons from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. followed by the live music from 9 p.m. to midnight then a DJ until 1:45 a.m.
Sept. 14
‘Illuminate the Night’
- This annual fundraiser takes place at 5 p.m. and features a candlelight concert. The event, at the Gavilan College Theater, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., also includes a silent and live auction, wine, and beer tastings and appetizers. Chitactac Family Day
- Enjoy a family-friendly day of activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chitactac Adams Heritage County Park, 10001 Watsonville Road. Play traditional games, view the ancient petroglyph, and create unique crafts. Details: [email protected].
Book Sale
- The Friends of the Gilroy Library book sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library, 350 W. Sixth St. The Book Store needs volunteers. They also need donations of Blue Rays, DVDS, science fiction and fantasy. Books are $5 per bag for members and $8 per bag for non-members. Membership starts at $5 per year.
A Day in the Garden
- The Morgan Hill Community Garden invites the public to spend the day with gardeners learning about sustainable and organic methods of growing food and flowers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 15690 Railroad Ave., Morgan Hill. Includes children’s activities, cooking, seed saving and other demonstrations.

Golf Classic
- The 3rd Annual Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic takes place with a shotgun start at noon at Coyote Creek Golf Club. Sept. 17
Growing Vegetables in Fall, Winter
- Learn how to grow a successful and productive vegetable garden from fall through winter from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave. Find out how many cool season vegetables are easy to grow and best for our climate. Soil preparation, watering, fertilizing, crop rotation, disease and pest management will also be discussed. Eat tasty vegetables from your garden all year. Leadership Bowling Night
- Leadership Gilroy Class of 2024 presents a bowling night to raise money for their Healing Paws project (see column on page 1). The Story of Sue Berghoff
- In this documentary, Sue Berghoff transforms a devastating diagnosis into something positive, becoming a champion of dementia research, education, and caregiver support for those living with Lewy body dementia. Candidate Forum
- The Gilroy Branch of AAUW will conduct an election forum for six city council candidates and two mayoral candidates at 2 p.m. at the Gilroy Library, 660 W. Sixth St. The plan is to have a few (3 or 4) prepared questions for all candidates and then allow questions from the floor via collected index cards. Quilt and Fiber Show
- Piece by Piece Quilters of Morgan Hill presents their annual quilt and fiber art show, Sew Whimsy from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday 10-5 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, come and see the beautiful quilts displayed in the 100-year-old United Methodist Church, 17175 Monterey Road., Morgan Hill. There will be basket raffles and a quilt raffle! Learn about quilting from some of the 120-strong membership. Members come from South San Jose, Gilroy, Aptos and Hollister, to name a few.
