Recent storms have significantly impacted county-maintained roads, causing more closures due to mudslides, flooding, and downed trees. The County of Santa Clara’s Road Maintenance crews are working to reopen impacted roads. Emergency road closure information is available at www.sccgov.org/roadclosures.

Road closures from mudslides, flooding, and downed trees have a dramatic impact on our residents’ ability to get to work or drive their kids to school. Providing a website to check for these emergency closures enables our residents to stay informed of the status of these roads. Recent storms have caused damage to eight County maintained roads.

County Road Maintenance crews work seven days a week during severe weather events to keep our roadways safe and passable. We ask that drivers be alert for road closure signs and for equipment and crews, especially for operations on narrow mountain roadways.

County Road Maintenance crews and PG&E are currently working to reopen the following new road closures resulting from this week’s winter storm:

  • Calaveras Road closed – Felter Road to Alameda County.

  • Mines Road closed – Del Puerto Road to Alameda County Line due to 2 washouts.

  • Sierra Road closed – Skyview Dr. to Felter Road – slide/storm debris.

  • Stevens Canyon is closed between Mt. Eden and Redwood Gulch due to a downed tree and communication line.

  • Mesa Road closed from Santa Teresa to Hwy 101 due to flooding.

  • Gilroy Hot Springs Road closed at Coyote Reservoir due to flooding.

  • Bloomfield closed between Frazer Lake and Hwy 152 due to flooding.

  • Mt. Madonna Road (Dirt Section) is closed from 1.75 miles east of Redwood Retreat Road to Summit Road in Gilroy.
